As a small family business, EleMar Oregon has only a handful of employees, and each person’s role is vital to the operation of the business. Each of our team members cares deeply about the success of this business. What makes EleMar such a special place to shop for slabs is the personal attention that every customer receives during their visit. Furthermore, our educational versus selling approach empowers our customers to make their own decisions about what they like, and what they want.

 

 

Darrel Boyd
Owner & Marketing Manager

Darrel is one of the owners of EleMar Oregon. He and his wife own a three-acre apple orchard in the west hills of Sherwood. During his free time, Darrel enjoys playing with his grand kids, teaching his black lab puppy Bell how to fetch, singing and performing in a blues rock band called The Bozo Brothers, and brewing hand-crafted beer recipes in his garage.

At EleMar, Darrel manages everything from sales and customer service, to unloading containers and delivering slabs. Primarily, Darrel’s overall focus is on EleMar Oregon’s marketing strategies and website. With a knack for computer programming, Darrel not only manages all of Elemar Oregon’s technical demands, he also designs and helps maintain the websites for EleMar’s three sister companies on the east coast.

 

 

 

 

 

Jay Malhi
Owner & Purchasing Manager

Jay is one of the owners of EleMar Oregon. He and his wife just sent their oldest daughter off to college; they have one daughter still in high school, and a son in the fifth grade. Soccer, basketball, baseball games, and dance performances keep Jay pretty busy with his kids. During his free time he enjoys annual camping trips with a group of his engineering buddies, playing catch with his son, and relaxing to a good football game on TV.

At EleMar, Jay manages everything from sales and customer service, to unloading containers and delivering slabs. Purchasing is Jay’s principal duty; he negotiates with vendors from all over the world to import the most beautiful, premium slabs that he can find. A highly experienced former engineer, Jay is always coming up with new projects at the warehouse.

 

 

 

 

 

Joaquin Romero
Warehouse Manager & Delivery Driver

Joaquin has been with EleMar Oregon since early 2007. He has two older sons, one, Bryant helps out at the warehouse on weekends and afternoons, and three younger kids who are still in elementary school and younger. Joaquin enjoys spending time with his kids, working on his house and yard, cooking, and going out salsa dancing with his wife.

At EleMar, Joaquin’s primary role is Warehouse Manager & Delivery Driver. Joaquin unloads arriving containers, moves slabs, maintains order in the warehouse, and drives the delivery truck all over Oregon and Southern Washington. With his positive attitude and a readiness to assist with any project in any way that he can, Joaquin is dependable, hard working and instantly liked by everyone he meets.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Amy Cloutier
Office & Imports Coordinator; Customer Service

Amy started with EleMar Oregon in 2012 after spending 16 years in high tech. customer service.  Originally from Wisconsin, Amy moved to Oregon in 2004.  Amy is a former sharp shooter, but now enjoys volleyball and farmers markets.  Shes married with 4 children and has a cat named Lilly (aka Fierce Dragon).

Her experience in customer service show when she’s helping customers pick out slabs.  She manages the front office, communicates with our fabricators and generally helps make EleMar a pleasant place to be.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mike Krukowski

Warehouse & Delivery Coordinator; Customer Service

 

Originally from Ohio, Mike lived in Eugene, Oregon until about two years ago when he moved up to southeast Portland.  He enjoys playing and listening to music.

Coming to EleMar with a wealth of experience from the stone industry, Mike helps to manage the warehouse, make deliveries, and guides customers in the showroom. Mike not only has an excellent knowledge of natural stone, he has experience working with fabrication and installation. The EleMar family feels lucky to have him!

 

 

 

 

 

Kim Skukas

Customer Service & Office Coordinator.

 

Kim is the newest member of the EleMar family. Originally from the Chicago area, Kim recently moved to Portland from Eugene, Oregon. Kim is very active in water sports like diving, spear fishing, and is currently a member of the US Women’s Underwater Hockey Team.

 

Kim joins the EleMar team with lots of experience in stone and design.  She has a BA in Fine Arts and has been working for years in the tile and stone slab industries, helping guide customers through color choices and design decisions.  Her warm smile and attention to detail helps put customers at ease about their decision process.

 

 

 

 

Bryant Romero

Warehouse Staff.

 

Bryant has worked “part time” around the warehouse the past few years as he attends school.  He is quite an artist and can draw just about anything he sets his mind to.  He also likes sampling and recording his own rap music.

Bryant helps keep the warehouse and office looking good.  He is also a big help moving slabs and maintaining our samples.  Bryant is very comfortable working with customers and it’s easy to tell he’s eager to be helpful.
